6th Annual New Years Day Polar Plunge

Once again its time to shed your inhibitions, fear, commons sense and clothes (bathing suits are pretty much required it's a family event)!

When: New Years Day of course!

Where: Neahkahnie Beach, the parking lot just north of the stop sign on Beulah Reed Road. It's the last big parking area on the north end of the beach. (one mile north of Laneda Ave downtown).

Time: 10:00 am that's the time we meet and take pictures and have our friends (the ones not doing it) laugh at us. Then we "just do it". Please try to be on time so we don't have to freeze our tuckus off while you are running up yelling "wait for me"!

Rules: Very Important - We have to gather on the beach together and form a group so we can take a group photo, in our bathing suits, then there is a countdown and we all run in the ocean together!

Post: We hope to have a big fire on the beach to cozy up to after the plunge. Then you are invited to come by spa manzanita for hot cider, tea, treats and war stories!

MANZANITA PACE SETTERS (MPS)
A walk-jog-run club that meets every Saturday morning at 7:30am in the parking lot behind spa manzanita

Fight the winter blues, winter weight gain and enjoy the camaraderie of other fitness enthusiasts of all levels on a weekly commitment to better health, weight loss, outdoor exposure and fun!

We will go rain, wind or shine, its all good!

No charge and all active club members get 10% off on massages at spa manzanita.

Janice B. Gaines BS LMT (owner of spa manzanita and fitness/wellness expert), will lead, teach, encourage and share with you her experience and knowledge. We will do a self-paced (approximately) one hour course that starts and ends at the parking lot with a new course each week.

A couple requirements:

1. You need to show up!
2. Bring a can of food; spa manzanita will collect the food and take to North County Food Bank.
3. You are invited to also bring any clean folded clothes, shoes, blankets and small kitchen utensils to be donated to North County Clothing Bank.

So this is a double mitzvah (charitable act), good for you and good for someone needy.
