Mother’s day is a special occasion to show appreciation and gratitude to the women who raised us, loved us, nurtured us, and support us throughout our lives. As we all know, being a mother is not an easy job. It can be stressful, exhausting, and overwhelming at times. That’s why it’s important for mothers to practice self-care and treat themselves to some pampering and relaxation.

Self-care is sacred.

Self-care is not self-indulgent. At Spa Manzanita we believe self-care is sacred.  It is a way of taking care of your physical, mental, and emotional well-being. It can help recharge your energy, boost your mood, and feel happier

Here are some ways you can help your mother, sister, friend, or yourself practice a little self-care to celebrate Mother’s Day:

– Enjoy a massage, a facial or other spa treatment. A massage can reduce stress and tension in your muscles and joints. It can improve your blood circulation and lymphatic drainage. A massage can also release endorphins, the natural painkillers and mood enhancers of your body!  A spa facial will cleanse, exfoliate, and hydrate your skin. It can also remove impurities, stimulate collagen production and brighten your complexion and give you a healthy glow. You can’t go wrong with either choice and both can improve your mental health by helping you relax and unwind.

Practice gratitude and positivity. Write down three things you are grateful for every day, or say them out loud. You can also compliment yourself or someone else, or perform a random act of kindness.

Exercise, move your body!  Exercise is a way of taking care of your physical and mental health, and it can have a positive impact on your mood, energy, sleep, stress, and self-esteem. Exercise can help you release endorphins, which are natural chemicals that make you feel good. Choose activities that you enjoy, maybe dancing, hiking, swimming, or playing sports.  Show yourself some love. It’s a way of saying: I matter, I deserve this, I can do this. Exercise is self-care, and you are worth it!

Remember that self-care is not a luxury, it’s a necessity. Mother’s Day is a good day to remember this and to practice it fully.
