One guest’s experience with Julie at The Studio House & Co.
If you’ve been curious about energy work or sound healing but weren’t sure what to expect, you’re not alone. Most people have heard the terms. Fewer know what it actually feels like to experience all of it at once — the sound, the vibration, the energy work — working together in a single session.
So we’re going to let Gia tell you.
Gia knows wellness.
As a practitioner herself, she’s no stranger to bodywork, energy work, or the language of restoration. She came to her first Restorative Resonance session with Julie with an informed sense of what she was walking into.
She left with this:
“Like being held in an envelope of sound and energy, where my whole system could settle and expand at the same time.”
That’s Gia, after her first session with Julie at The Studio House & Co. in Nehalem.
We’ve been thinking about that quote ever since she shared it. Settle and expand at the same time. When someone who works in this space says that — it means something.
So what actually happens in a Restorative Resonance session?
Restorative Resonance is the most immersive session Julie offers — and it’s unlike anything else available on the north Oregon coast.
You arrive. You lie down, fully clothed, on a vibroacoustic sound mat. The room is warm and private. Julie — our resident sound healer, Reiki Master, and what we’ve taken to calling our Keeper of Calm — begins.
Low-frequency sound waves move gently through the mat and through your body. Not metaphorically. Physically. Your nervous system responds. Singing bowls and tuning forks create tones that layer over and around you. And woven through all of it, Julie’s intuitive energy work — Reiki — guides the body’s natural energetic flow, supporting whatever needs to settle.
The mind slows in a way that’s almost surprising. Time does something strange and soft. Tension you didn’t know you were holding starts to release. Most guests describe it as the deepest rest they’ve had in years. Some lie still for several minutes afterward, unwilling to move.
Gia said her whole system could settle and expand at the same time.
That’s Restorative Resonance.
Meet Julie.
Julie is the practitioner behind this work at The Studio House. She offers Restorative Resonance, Sound Healing, and Reiki — and she brings to each session a quality that’s harder to name but easy to feel: genuine presence. Warm, unhurried, and gifted at creating the kind of space where real rest becomes possible.
She is now booking at The Studio House & Co. in Nehalem — our sister space, just a few minutes down the coast from Spa Manzanita.
Is Restorative Resonance right for you?
If any of these feel familiar, it might be worth trying:
- Your nervous system has been running hot
- Sleep feels shallow or unsatisfying
- You carry tension that massage helps but doesn’t fully resolve
- You’ve been curious about energy work but want something grounded and accessible
- You simply need to land somewhere for an hour
This work is gentle, intentional, and deeply restorative. It doesn’t ask anything of you except to arrive and lie down.
Sessions available in 45 and 60 minutes.

The Studio House & Co. is the sister space to Spa Manzanita — a warm, creative studio in downtown Nehalem. When booking, please select The Studio House (Nehalem) to book with Julie.
Reiki is also available at Spa Manzanita.
If you’d like to explore Reiki on its own — Rae offers Reiki sessions right here at the spa.
Reiki is a gentle form of energy work that supports relaxation and balance. Using light touch or hands placed just above the body, Rae helps guide the body’s natural energetic flow. Many guests experience warmth, calm, or a sense of deep rest — especially helpful for stress, emotional fatigue, or simply needing a quieter, more restorative hour.
